Moore is to take on the role of Margaret White, the mother of Carrie - a teenage girl with supernatural powers, website Deadline has reported. Margaret is an extremely overprotective mother who spends her time preaching door-to-door and when Carrie gets her first period she locks her in a cupboard, ordering her to pray for forgiveness. Moretz, who is to play the protagonist in the film, told BBC News that the film would be 'dark but exciting' and compared it to 2010's Black Swan.

The 15-year-old also revealed: 'It's a modern-day retelling, not based in the '70s or anything.'It is to be directed by Kimberly Pierce, whose works include Boys Don't Cry starring Hilary Swank. Chloe spoke about the process of working with the director saying: 'What I'm doing with Kim Pierce is kind of breaking down the book. We're bringing a lot of the book into it and the psychology into it to really get into who she is.' It was also recently revealed that Three Musketeers star Gabriella Wilde is to play Sue Snell in the film - a girl who bullies Carrie but soon realises that what she is doing is wrong.

Chloe Moretz talks 'Dark Shadows,' Tim Burton, Johnny Depp breakfast scene

Chloe Moretz talks 'Dark Shadows,' Tim Burton, Johnny Depp breakfast sceneChloe Grace Moretz says she has always looked up to Tim Burton, who directed her, Johnny Depp, and Michelle Pfeiffer in the new vampire film, "Dark Shadows." Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a playboy vampire who was buried alive for more than 200 years after breaking the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard, played by Eva Green. Pfeiffer plays Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, Collins' cousin and matriarch in the household, while Moretz, 15, plays Stoddard's the young and misunderstood daughter, Carolyn.

"Every experience I've had so far has been absolutely amazing," the fledgling actress told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "And this is one of the most special ones. Because ever since I was a little kid I've really looked up to [Burton], and he's made some of the most amazing and influential movies of my childhood."

Burton is known for helming dark children's films such as "Alice in Wonderland" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factor" and also wrote the hit animated Disney movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

"It was pretty cool, going on set," Moretz said about her "Dark Shadows" experience. "One of the very first scenes we did was when everyone was at the breakfast table together. And just sitting in a room with Michelle Pfeiffer over here, and Johnny Depp at that end, and then Helena Bonham Carter's right there and Tim Burton is off like right beside us. It's just, it's incredible."

"Dark Shadows" hit theaters on Friday, May 11. The film is based on a 1960s soap opera, and Burton made his film adaptation a comedy set in 1972. Several of the original cast members make a cameo in the movie.

"They're all happy to be there and it was kind of nice to have their blessing, in a way," said Bella Heathcote, who plays Victoria Winters, the governess of Pfeiffer's nephew, and Josette du Pres, another former love interest of Collins. Moretz went on to explain how she can relate to her dark character in the film.

"She's really like me in a way because she's really into her music and her fashion and she's kind of this ... she's rebellious, but she has so many more things than just a rebellious teenager," Moretz added.

In March 2012, it was announced that Moretz would appear alongside Rupert Grint in the Beach Boys biopic "The Drummer." The film is centered around the life of Dennis Williams, the iconic 1960s drummer for the famed group. Williams is set to be played by "Dark Knight" actor Aaron Eckhart.

Moretz has appeared in a number of films in her short career, including "Let Me In," "Kick-Ass," "(500) Days of Summer" and the 2011 Martin Scorsese film "Hugo."

CHLOE MORETZ’S KNACK FOR HORROR

Posted in : Gossips

(added 4 days ago)

Horror is becoming Chloe Moretz’s wheelhouse: she played a vampire in Let Me In, a werewolf in Dark Shadows, and now she’s circling a role that would complete the terrible trifecta, Variety reports. Moretz is mulling the title role in Maggie, about a farm girl slowly turning undead flesh-eater in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, which would start production in September. And let’s not forget that she recently signed on to play Carrie in the upcoming remake of the classic horror film.

CHLOE MORETZ’S KNACK FOR HORROR

It’s stark difference compared to 15-year-old Moretz’s contemporaries, who have been picking more youthfully innocent roles: 15-year-old Hailee Steinfeld is set to play Sleeping Beauty and Juliet in a classic Romeo and Juliet telling, while 14-year-old Elle Fanning is also playing Sleeping Beauty in the upcoming Maleficent.

Chloë Moretz Eyes Zombie Drama ‘Maggie’

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added 4 days ago)

It looks like Chloë Grace Moretz is preparing to add yet another horror title to her resume – to go along with the vampire flick remake Let Me In, Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows film adaptation and Kimberly Peirce’s re-interpretation of Stephen King’s Carrie novel (which begins production next month, at the time of writing this).

Chloë Moretz Eyes Zombie Drama ‘Maggie’

The monster movie in question is Maggie, a low-budget zombie flick that made headlines last year when Timur Bekmambetov (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) acquired the spec script. Maggie is now being backed by such producers as Pierre-Ange Le Pogam (Colombiana), along with Matthew Baer and Trevor Kaufman.

Bekmambetov’s involvement with Maggie is somewhat up in the air right now, seeing how he’s not mentioned in the latest report from Variety. However, the project’s Black Listed screenplay – penned by former NASA satellite guidance system programmer John Scott 3 (yes, that is his writing name), is still slated to be overseen by first-time feature-length director Henry Hobson. While he has experience helming commercials, Hobson is best known for his title design work around Hollywood – with his more memorable output including the titles for Rango, Sherlock Holmes and Fright Night, along with the opening titles for The Walking Dead.

Scott’s Maggie script adds a few twists to the usual zombie proceedings; namely, it focuses on a small farm family whose daughter Maggie has been infected with a “walking dead” virus that slowly transforms her into a flesh-eating, mindless creature. The plot revolves around the efforts of Maggie’s parents and siblings (especially her dad) to help her come to terms with her “condition”; Moretz, assuming she signs on, would portray the titular character. Currently in talks to portray Maggie’s father is English thespian Paddy Considine, who made a splash last year with his own, critically-acclaimed feature-length filmmaking debut (the somber indie drama Tyrannosaur).

Overall, Maggie is shaping up to be a fairly inventive variation on more traditional zombie genre fare, with two top-notch performers as the leads – and a promising (if inexperienced) visual artist calling the shots. However, it ought to be pointed out that the film is tentatively being eyed to begin principal photography this September, around the same time that the Kick-Ass sequel is supposed to begin production. Whether or not that means that Moretz will be unable to reprise her role as Hit-Girl for Kick-Ass 2 – assuming she is planning to be involved with the comic book movie, which has yet to be confirmed – that remains to be seen. We will continue to keep you posted on the status of Maggie as more information is released.

Chloe Moretz, Eva Green and Johnny Depp at the 'Dark Shadows' London Premiere

Posted in : Gossips

Chloe Moretz, Eva Green and Johnny Depp at the 'Dark Shadows' London PremiereTim Burton’s latest gothic film, Dark Shadows, sees Hollywood A-lister Michelle Pfeiffer play mother to budding-star (and style setter, hello, Max Mara's Face of the Future) Chloe Moretz alongside Johnny Depp, Eva Green and Helena Bonham Carter. And, with the premiere taking place in London’s Leicester Square last night – with some fans waiting a whopping 13 hours to catch a glimpse of Johnny - we’re all dying to know who wore what…

Chloe embraced the gothic theme by wearing a stunning blood red McQ Alexander McQueen AW12 broderie anglais dress which the starlet accessorised with a thick black waist belt and ankle strap heels. We also loved her girl-next-door tousled blonde hair and 1980s red diamante ring by Susan Caplan. She's growing up!

Former Bond girl Eva Green (who judging by those roots, is a natural blonde, who knew!?) who plays the evil witch seeking revenge against Johnny Depp’s character and his family, looked vamp-tastic in a dark blue floor-length velvet dress, gold cuffs, seriously smoky eyes and bright red lips. When asked on the red carpet what it was like to kiss co-star, Johnny Depp, Eva replied coyly, saying ‘not bad.’ Not a bad job, is it?

Helena Bonham Carter looked stunning in a signature gothic glam ensemble which saw her in lots of black netting and ruffles. Australian actress Bella Heathcote, who plays not one, but two characters in the film put herself on the fashion map in a knee-length black net backless dress and royal blue nails while Michelle Pfeiffer wore a burgundy red strapless dress and Sergio Rossi black satin ‘cachet’ peep toe slingback pumps. Johnny donned his usual look of tinted shades and lots of Jack Sparrow-inspired jewellery.

So, it’s official. Gothic glamour is in, and not just for the stars of Dark Shadows but guests like Paloma Faith, who wore a black Dolce&Gabbana ensemble from their SS12 runway collection, embraced the look too. We're in.

(added 8 days ago)

Taking care of her to-do list, Chloe Moretz was quite the busy lady while on press duty in Hollywood, California. Along with attending the Grauman's Chinese Theatre premiere of her new movie, the budding young actress also hit up the “Dark Shadows” afterparty while looking super cute in a yellow and orange getup.

Not quite finished up just yet, Miss Moretz also dropped by the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” studios where she discussed being world famous at fifteen years old. “Yes I really am 15. No [I don’t feel older than I am]. I have a bunch of different personalities," Chloe explained. " When I’m with my friends I’m pretty much a complete idiot. I’m not poised or anything. And when I’m on here I’m like, ‘Yeah...’ All cool on the outside.”

Chloe Moretz Gets Ready To Floor It In The Fast Lane

Posted in : Gossips

(added 9 days ago)

Chloe Moretz is no stranger to controversy, but lord knows what will happen when she gets behind the wheel for the first time! After all, the 15-year-old is about to get her driver's license. To think, she doesn't know how to drive, when she flung curses and fists in Kick-Ass, sucked blood in the movie Let Me In and is getting ready to play an underage runaway who flirts with very older men in her next film Hick!

But while her roles might be extremely edgy and mature, Chloe is still a kid at heart. She recently got super excited when she received a surprise gift (an iPad!) from her mother. We're glad to know she's got her head on straight. No wonder Chloe was picked to play the lead role in the remake of Stephan King's Carrie. No one will be laughing at her then!

Chloe Moretz Channels Brigitte Bardot in Flaunt

Posted in : Modeling

(added 10 days ago)

Chloe Moretz Channels Brigitte Bardot in FlauntChloe Moretz, is the most oversexed 15-year-old in Hollywood, channels Brigitte Bardot in a stunningly sexual photo shoot for Flaunt magazine. The blonde starlet, who is a film industry veteran despite her young age, wears clothes by Marni, Rodarte and Maison Martin Margiela–just what you’d expect to find in a high schooler’s closet.

Photographer Yu Tsai shot Chloe in a warehouse setting, with styling by Lisa Michelle Boyd for the magazine’s spring issue. Flaunt is published 10 times a year and dedicated to arts, music, film and fashion.

The photo spread and article are entitled “The Professional.” Moretz easily fits the definition. She began acting at seven in films such as “The Amityville Horror,” “(500) Days of Summer,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” and “Big Momma’s House 2.” And that was before her big breakout role at 12 in the 2010 film “Kick Ass.”

Her character, “Hit Girl,” was jarring and controversial, not only for the level of violence the part called for, but also for Moretz’s cursing and use of the word c*nt. She most recently starred in “Let Me In” and “Hugo.” Both films were critically acclaimed.

In an accompanying video, Moretz says her big dream is to get into Columbia University. She’ll have plenty to keep her busy until then. She’s slated to star in five upcoming films. The newest films are “Hick,” an adaptation of the novel by Andrea Portes, and “Dark Shadows,” the Tim Burton remake of the television series with Johnny Depp.

And during her chat with Letterman, Chloe talked about meeting Johnny Depp on the set of her new film “Dark Shadows,” which hits theaters next Friday (May 11). “He’s a great guy. All my friends were so jealous of it... It was actually really funny. They didn’t tell me I was meeting him that day. And they didn’t tell me I was rehearsing that scene that night... That was like the one day I showed up in pajamas.”

Moretz, 15, also noted that she can’t wait to get her driver’s license. “My mom doesn’t want me to. I get my [driving] permit in August. My mom’s very adamant about me learning to drive a manual [transmission]. And I’m not really that good at regular driving. So working with three pedals... it’s not good. It’s hard!”
